About Alum Rock Counseling CenterAlum Rock Counseling Center (ARCC) is much more than a counseling center. We are a community service agency that offers a variety of affordable programs and services designed to help youth and families achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles. Founded in 1974, ARCC has been creating healthier communities, one youth and one family at a time. In 1974, we provided services to 500 youth and families, with a predominantly volunteer corps; we now serve over 3,500 youth and families. ARCC strives to:
ARCC's unique combination of services include the 24-hour youth and family crisis intervention program; adult and family counseling services; mentoring, school-based counseling; and after school programming that is geared to teach youth how to make healthy choices. ARCC has a staff of 30 employees and 30 volunteers. Our highly dedicated staff enables ARCC to continue its mission and to provide guidance and tools that help participants to make healthy choices and enhance their ability to become productive members of society. In order to expand our ability to meet the needs of our clients, ARCC is looking to the future. We are in need of a new facility that can house all our services and that is conducive to a healing and supportive environment where families can come to resolve conflict or learn effective ways to maintain healthy lifestyles. Modern working conditions, equipment, storage, and space are essential to ARCC's future growth. ARCC is also proud to be a United Way member agency.
